There we go. Finally finished. Looks like a completely different artist drew this one. If you can’t tell what is going on, go back and read from here. If you still can’t tell what is going on, you know where to complain.

Here’s a sketch for the next Adventures in Retail comic. This will be #55. It’s been a long time, but I’ve been planning. Sketching. Scheming. It seems the longer I take between installments the better my work looks. Or is it just me? Click the image to see bigger.

I made another comic. I need to make a page specifically for all these random comics.

Edit: I fixed the rock missing from that jerk’s hand in the last panel thanks to Kristov. Now it looks like I wanted it to originally, rather than Jesus making him hit himself with a rock.

I drew a comic on paper and scanned it for you to enjoy. Hopefully this posts while I’m at work tomorrow. It should show up at 1pm.

This comic is taking me FOREVER to finish! I worked at least 4 hours today on this and i have about 4 panels inked. Also, that doesn’t include any backgrounds, either. Here is a preview of some “inked” panels. I haven’t used any real ink on this at all yet. All on the cintiq.  According to the references from that time period, i.e. paintings from hundreds of years later, everyone wore beards.

Alright. Who knows how this is gonna work out in the future, but here’s a comic I added a few tones to and changed the way the mall employees’ outfits look. You can see how it looked originally below. I fixed the hell out of it with some fancy lamp posts and darkening up the parking lot asphalt. That stuff is usually black. I finally got the EX version of the ol’ Manga Studio, made some lamp posts in Blender and imported them. Made some much better parking lot spaces with the perspective tool and uploaded it to replace the original. The perspective tool is amazing. That alone is worth the extra money from the Debut version. I’m happier with the way it looks and I’m gonna do it with the other ones. Let me know what you thinks.

Here is the firstest comic made entirely on paper, then scanned into Manga Studio and fooled with, then exported into Photoshop CS2, turned into CMYK, then exported as a .gif for your viewing pleasure. I will do the background tomorrow when hiking is completed. I used different line tones on this one than the other one I practiced on in the previous post. I like it a little better when you can actually see the dots. Also, the preview image below has the best hand I think I’ve drawn to date. Always improving!

I’m not quite finished with this one, but really, am I ever? Perspective takes forever, especially with parking lot lines. I am going to try to do them digitally for this one and a couple of the previous ones, but I need to go to bed. I also need to go back and change a few things on Stew’s pants and Brian’s uniform. I decided it needs more black. Anyway, here is Adventures in Retail #53. Enjoy.

Well, if it isn’t about time. Look at what I made! My good friend Chris is helping me with the writing part of it and it’s already better. And as I type this I just realized I didn’t put his name in the credits. Dammit. I’ll fix that later because I need to sleep, delicious sleep. Yum. Enjoy.
