Runner up #2 – Janis D.

August 18th, 2006 by

This is the most surreal entry I received and that made it stand out above the #3 entry. I only edited some of the punctuation on this one.

Runner up #3 – Chris Read

August 18th, 2006 by

I liked this one because it helped to explain that box of human parts that can be seen in a couple of strips. However, it needed some work. I’ve tweaked the words a little and made changes that I think make the comic a little bit funnier. Below the comic is the original entry. You people tell me what one works better: the one in the comic or the entry.

Panel 1 –

Jon: Hey Stew, why do we have a box of hands under the counter?
Stew: Funny you should ask….

Little Girl: Hey Mistuh, do you gots any band aids?

Panel 3 –

Stew: Bwahuh?

Panel 4 –

Stew: BAND AIDS!? MWA HAHAHAHAHA!

Panel 5 –

Stew: Does this piss hole look like a hospital to you, you little hussy!?

Panel 6 –

Stew: We sell clothes and clothing accesorys, take your wounds elsewhere!

Panel 7 –

Little Girl: But it hurts *whimper*

Panel 8 –

Stew: So I cut her hands off with a box cutter and carterized the stumps,
then put the hands in this empty box.

Jon: Makes sense to me.

Stand up groom

August 6th, 2006 by

My wife just found this picture of me at our wedding. It has been almost a year and we still haven’t made our photo scrap book, ha! Anyway, I’m not sure what I was saying here, but some lucky photo-grapher captured me as if I were Jerry Seinfeld. I thought it was funny enough to share with you all.

And congrats to nate for just getting married!

Contest Update

July 28th, 2006 by

Here is the artwork for the contest everybody. As most folks seem to have understood, write you scripts by numbering them with panel numbers. There are 8 panels (for those of you that can’t count). Entries are looking good so far!

I think this is some of my best drawing yet, so the winner is in for a treat.

Final line art for contest

Edit:  You have until the 15th of August to enter the contest.

Tall sheep for Brian

Kinda funny looking. I used horses and giraffes for leg references.

Forgotten Dialogue CONTEST

July 18th, 2006 by

I probably spelled that word incorrectly, but screw it, I am going to have a contest! I sketched a comic out a long time ago and then i lost it. Now i have found it but I can’t for the life of me remember what the words were and only vaguely remember what the punchline was supposed to be about.

My part: I am going to finish the comic up to a point. Now comes your part.

Your part: All six of my readers will have the chance to write the dialogue and end the comic with a funny joke. You can work together if you like and email me with any questions about character attitudes and what-not; I’ll be happy just for the human contact. Now comes my part again:

More work on my part: If your words are funny I’ll put them into the comic and post it on the site. I will then send the winner the original artwork as a consolation prize for doing half of my job for me.

Really, I can only remember that it had something to do with gift receipts and that Stew said mean things and made the girl cry. It can be anything that fits the pictures without being overly disgusting and fits the charaters. It must be awesome and make me laugh.

Here is a preview of what I had and what I was thinking. Kinda. I will post a better version for you to look at and what-not soon.

Email me your submissions with the subject Forgotten Contest or something like that to aj(dot)stewped(at)gmail(dot)com .

** Edit: This will run for a while. Until I get a really great entry or I just don’t get anymore submissions.

Gatorchuting pg 2 sketch

July 18th, 2006 by

I have just printed this out so that I can draw it on real, live, dead trees. The first page was completely digital, but I want to move away from that because the feel of paper is seksie.

Not quite dead

July 16th, 2006 by

I’m not dead. I’m drawing right now. I have been busy fighting the undead and feeding the homeless to the hungry. Also, in regards to a drawing of a cow I have been requested to draw, I have been out looking at them so as to draw it better. Page 2 of the Gatorchuting comic is in progress.

It is nice to feel wanted and loved, if only for my comicals.
