I bought a 24-page sketchbook around the middle of September with the intent of filling the entire thing by the middle of October.
I think the only way to keep myself honest, and actually working on this goal, is to post each page as I complete it. Ideally, I would be posting two pages a day. If I were to fill two pages a day, I would complete this in 24 days. However, I sincerely thought that doing just one side of one page a day would be good.
Then it hit me.
That would make 48 days. Whoops.
So here’s the first couple pages, then I’ll post the rest day by day until I’m caught up and post them each day.
There’s some illustrated thesaurus stuff here, some ‘arry pottuh stuff, and just random craziness. Enjoy.

I’m making artwork for an iPhone game coming out as soon as I finish the artwork for the iPhone game… It involves a stick-figure named Word Man. I guess he’s a super hero, but really I think it’s just a guy wearing a cape in his free time.
Anyway, here’s one of the images for it.
I’ll leave it up to you to figure out what’s going on.

Made a bunch of sketches of caricatures of myself last night. I think that was Wednesday night. Going back to work after 3 weeks off has been very confusing. I haven’t been able to get a quarter of the drawing done that I want.
ah, jesus, I just saw some kinda furry ad via the project wonderful stuff at the top of my page.
BARF.

I got to go to APE-CON with Urban Myth Studios as their in-house letterer a couple weeks ago. This was because I AM their in-house letterer! Boy, howdy! In the spirit of comics I drew these two guys from Marvel Comics. Wolverine and Thor as stick(ish) figures. I have a Nightcrawler posted over on deviantArt, so you’ll have to go over there to view it. That site just has more of the stuff you’ve already seen here. Re-posted comics and such. As my scanner bought a farm several months ago, I took the best pictures I could with my phone and altered them in Photoshop in order to make them look better. You will notice that I have failed. A new scanner is on the way, but I’ve heard mixed things about it. The scanner will be bigger than the one I owned before, so that is a plus.
While at the convention I got to meet the famed creator of Hip Flask and Elephantmen, Richard Starkings! It was great. He look at the lettering I did for the Urban Myth guys and said that most of it was good, except for a few dumb mistakes. Which I should have caught. Here’s a page I lettered that he enjoyed as the SFX were good. The last panel has a bad tail in it which I will be correcting soon so it can be placed into my portfolio. If the majority of my lettering work is good, the only question left is, “how do I get a job doing that?!”
